Chalice House Donations
UU Society of Geneva
The Chalice House program provides temporary housing and other assistance for immigrants seeking asylum in the US. Located in Palatine, Chalice House is a shared program led by Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist, with assistance from the Illinois Community for Displaced Immigrants (ICDI) and other community partners who provide mentorship, financial aid, and in-kind support.
In the coming weeks, Chalice House will be welcoming a family of four from Ukraine. They are fleeing the ongoing Russian bombardment and are leaving behind everything to find a new peaceful existence in the US.
In preparation for their arrival, UUSG is partnering with Countryside Church UU to provide needed household items for the family. Please click here to see what’s needed - Chalice House: Chalice House Spring 2024 Refresh.
Please mark your donated items “For Chalice House” and drop them off in the common room no later than May 12th. If possible, plan to bring your donations on a Sunday. Otherwise, contact Christine in advance (office@uusg.org) to arrange a time for drop-off.
