Friday Flick: Crip Camp
UU Society of Geneva
On Friday, February 24 at 7 pm, the Friday Flick will be Crip Camp.
Fifty years ago, a summer camp run by hippies gave disabled teens an opportunity to experience full inclusion as human beings. Many of them found their voices at Camp Jened. This 2020 prize-winning film shows how these activists made themselves heard as they fought for equal rights nationally.
A Sundance Film Festival prize-winner, this film was picked up by the Obama’s Higher Ground Productions.
Note: Snacks are served. Masks are optional.
Friday flicks are documentaries with social justice themes. They are sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva. These movies are shown free to the public the fourth Friday of most months (not December or June). Usually they begin at 7 pm. Please enter the church through the entrance at 110 S. Second Street, Geneva.
