Beyond Our Walls Donations - New Changes to Our Giving Structure

Beginning in July 2024 we are implementing a few changes to our BOW "Beyond Our Walls" giving structure. Rather than collecting for one particular organization or cause each month, all the organizations and causes we support will be displayed every week during the offertory.  These organizations are the ones previously approved by the Social Justice team and include:

• Aurora Pride Parade

• Center for Information for Immigrants

• Habitat for Humanity

• Humanitarian Service Project

• Lazarus House

• Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans

• Northern Illinois Food Bank

• Trinity Soup Kitchen

The congregation will continue to contribute to BOW as they have in the past:

1.       Through the donation envelope marked “BOW” in the memo line.
2.       Through Tithley marked "BOW" in the drop down menu.
3.       With a check sent through the mail marked “BOW” in the memo line.

All contributions marked BOW will go into the Social Justice Restricted General Fund, which will then be used to fund activities for our list of BOW recipients and for other social justice work. Any donation marked for a specific organization or purpose, e.g. NIFB or soup kitchen, will go into a restricted account for that organization.
