Whether a text is new to you or not, scripture can be challenging. This class will try to unravel things, at least a bit. No experience necessary! Feel free to drop in on a given session, as time and interest allows. At this point, we’re reading through the Hebrew Bible; we are using the Massachusetts Bible Society’s “Introducing the Old Testament” as a study guide (purchase is not required). For a Bible, note that almost all of the great translations are available online for free (for example, see BibleGateway.com). If you prefer to have a book to hold in your hand, Rev. Scot recommends “The Jewish Study Bible,” and/or “Harper Collins Study Bible,” or “The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha.”
